Better Together Program

Better Together is designed to serve adults with disabilities so complex that they require one-on-one assistance to function successfully in a group setting, including those with feeding tubes, wheelchairs, toileting non-independence, and respiratory needs. These are individuals whose needs are so overwhelming, families must focus on daily living needs. But without access to social and recreational programming, both the individual and their caregivers can suffer from isolation and depression which can also affect health.

This population is often overlooked because their needs are overwhelming. EF has designed a program to address this isolation with structure and community. With adapted equipment and content, members participate in music, games, and art to stimulate creativity and intent to communicate. Members enjoy the activities, being around others, and having people pay attention to them. Having the next program to look forward to makes the intervening days better.
